August 27 - Data to solutions : lessons from managing climate risks - an event with Swiss Re

As climate change accelerates, the frequency and intensity of natural hazards, such as floods, bushfires and landslides, continue to rise. Both Australia and Switzerland are on the frontlines of these risks but also lead in developing scientific and practical approaches to understand, model and manage them.

Swiss Re uses cutting-edge risk modelling and data capabilities to help public and private sector clients anticipate the impacts of extreme weather events. By aligning academic insights with real-world risk modelling and operational knowledge, we can generate actionable intelligence to strengthen climate resilience and guide effective adaptation and mitigation strategies.

We are pleased to co-host this event with Swiss RE  to explore how climate risk research and modelling can be translated into practical tools for better risk management and decision-making. This is a chance to hear from Swiss Re experts as well as an academic perspective and also meet the ASAIN and Swisss Re communities during the networking.
